You know it’s nothing new, bad news never had good timing.

I was waiting for my coffee this morning and watching two mothers talk about one’s daughter that was with her and the other’s daughter that’s apparently a senior in college and I just got sad and angry. Then I got into my car and this song was next on the CD I had pulled out yesterday.
When my mom was getting really sick I listened to this song all the time to try to remind myself that everything wouldn’t always be so bad. I was so sick of people telling me she might get better, or it was in God’s plan, or whatever other bullshit people say in those situations when they mean well but aren’t helping, so that verse always stuck out to me. You can’t control anything and just have to hope the good outweighs the bad.
But lack of control never sits well with me.
