2012 Resolutions
Or maybe more like suggestions to keep in mind….
- Be financially responsible. At least spend less at Bloomingdale’s. I started out 2012 with making some changes to my 401K and setting up a LearnVest account to attempt to set a budget that allows for money to put away towards this thing called “savings.” Then I spent an absurd amount at Bloomingdale’s because it was Friday.
- Be realistic about what to expect from people. I have friends that are good for talking about job ambitions or travel, but maybe not emotions. I have friends that are good to talk to about emotional things, but maybe not city life. I have friends that rarely go out. I have friends that can be outrageous flakes. I have friends that I know I can call for anything. Know who falls into what category and don’t expect them to be something they’re not.
- Let it go. If something doesn’t work out the way I plan or imagine, let it go. Don’t try to control every plan/relationship/opportunity/etc. Something new will come along that will work out.
- Yes to more new, No to more old. Go to more events where I don’t know everyone. Try new restaurants and activities. Say no to plans I know I won’t enjoy. Stop letting myself be guilted into things.
